SAPPORO DOME (41,410)

Located in Sapporo City, one of the host venues for the 1972 Winter Olympics and one of the venues for the 2002 Fifa World Cup.

The Sapporo Dome opened in 2001 and hosted three first-round games during the 2002 World Cup, Germany v Saudi Arabia, Argentina v England and Italy v Ecuador.

Primarily used for baseball and football, it is the home field of the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters and Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo respectively.

In late 2009 renovations, with the possibility of increasing the capacity to 53,796, were finished and included more space for food outlets, an extra video screen, two extra changing rooms (to accommodate pre-season matches in the NFL International Series) and improved media facilities. As part of these renovations, the surface area of the pitch was decreased to allow for more seating.
